Monica Guggisberg was born in Bern in 1955. In 1977 she completes her apprenticeship in technical glassblowing. Both first met at Orrefors in Sweden and assisted Wilke Adolfsson and Ann Wolff. They shared their first studio in Nonfoux near Lausanne since 1982. Today they live and work in Paris.
They combine Scandinavian and Venetian glassmaking techniques in their work. As freelance designers they have designed successful products for international manufactures since 1985. Their clients include renown firms like Rosenthal, Steuben, and Venini. Their collaboration with Venini continues today. The list of museums and collections which have acquired their works is long and impressive. Individual showings, as well as participation in group shows, have given them opportunities to present their works at leading galleries and in major museums in Europe, Japan and the United States. Their works rank among the best to be found in the international studio glass scene.
